Samuel A. DePaul, Ph.D. completed his thirty-first year as a district superintendent on June 30, 2016. His tenure as a superintendent, has spanned four decades, serving five school districts, in three states. Dr. DePaul’s last position as superintendent was served in Colquitt County Schools, Moultrie, GA, where he lead the district for four years. Dr. DePaul received his Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh, his Master’s Degree from Westminster College, and his Bachelor’s Degree from Geneva College where he majored in biology and chemistry. |

Early in his career he taught science and coached a variety of sports. After four years of teaching, he moved into an assistant principal’s position and was later promoted to principal. From that position, he moved into his first position as superintendent.
Dr. DePaul has a wide diversity of experiences ranging from curriculum and instruction to leadership to finances to school construction. He has always been extremely involved in community activities such as Rotary, Chamber of Commerce United Way, YMCA and many others.
Dr. DePaul and his wife Megan reside in Talking Rock, GA; and they have one son Sam, daughter-in-law Megan, and granddaughter Stella Rae.
