Forest and Trees: Teaching Next Level Writing Grades 6-8
Led by Courtney Stevens
We’re talking about teaching writing in a single sentence, paragraph, and page, conquering personal fears related to writing, and critiquing at a higher level. You’ll write. You’ll learn. And you’ll walk away with classroom exercises and resources to teach writing in a brand-new way.
Courtney “Court” Stevens grew up among rivers, cornfields, churches, and gossip in the small town south. She is a former adjunct professor, youth minister, and Olympic torchbearer. She has a pet whale named Herman, a bandsaw named Rex, and several acclaimed novels with her name on the spine: Faking Normal (a Georgia Peach nominee), The Lies About Truth, the e-novella The Blue-Haired Boy, the award-winning and three-starred Dress Codes for Small Towns, and forthcoming Four Three Two One. As an educator and author, she visits schools, designs retreats, and teaches workshops for teachers, writers, and humans who like words.
