NGRESA Awarded Grants for Endorsements and GaTAPP

NGRESA has been awarded three grants totaling $732,845 dollars from the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) for Teacher and Leader Support and Development over the next two years.  The GaDOE Teacher and Leader Support and Development Grants will support Georgia educator recruitment initiatives for endorsements and GaTAPP across the state.  At NGRESA, the grants will fund for eligible candidates the cost of tuition for offered endorsements, as well as book vouchers.  For GaTAPP, partial tuition scholarships will be funded for eligible candidates. 

Grants awarded include the Georgia Teacher Endorsement Grant, the Georgia Teacher Leader Endorsement Grant, and the GaTAPP Grant.   

Eligible endorsements offered for FY23 include the following: Coaching Endorsement, Dyslexia Endorsement, ESOL Endorsement, Gifted Endorsement, Online Teaching Endorsement, and Reading Endorsement.  Candidates committed to completing these endorsements to enhance their teaching expertise are encouraged to register.  Priority enrollment and grant awards will be given to applicants from NGRESA partner districts: Cherokee, Gilmer, Murray, Pickens, and Whitfield. Those outside NGRESA should check with their RESA for availability of funds.  For registration information, please visit our website: https://www.ngresa.org/index.php/professional-learning/endorsements

Introduction to Educating Exceptional Children and Youth. This is an online course that fulfills the state requirement for teachers in Georgia.

To ensure educators know, understand, and can apply Georgia's Code of Ethics for Educators to their daily practice, paraprofessional ethics modules were developed by Georgia's RESAs in collaboration with the GaPSC.

The enhanced learning gained by paraprofessionals who participate in the training will help protect them, their colleagues, their schools, their school districts, their community, and, most importantly, their students, by enhancing professionalism and school safety.

You will have 3 weeks to complete this course at-your-own pace.

Join this informative session to examine the purpose, benefits, and opportunities for students on the path to college and career. Educators will also learn helpful insights and best practices to support academic advising and student success. Attendees will also learn about other program updates, the SAT Suite of Assessments transition to digital in 2023, and College Board’s Big Future Scholarships for the Class of 2024.

Session 2 of 4 

Come and collaborate with grade-level colleagues to dive into the new Georgia’s K-12 Mathematics Standards.  This series of four workshops is designed to (1) provide a deep understanding of the new standards at your grade level; (2) share effective mathematics instruction; and (3) allow you to walk away with a plan for the 2023-2024 school year.
