Common Core Performance Standards: Georgia joined 47 other states to develop a set of core standards K – 12 in English/Language Arts. These standards provide a consistent framework to prepare students for success in college and/or 21st century workplace.
K – 12 Educator Resource: This document provides information about the Common Core Initiative, the College and Career Readiness Anchor Standards, the Common Core Georgia Performance Standards for ELA, the Common Core Georgia Performance Standards for Literacy in Social Studies/History, Science, and Technical Subjects, and additional resources.
K – 12 Curriculum Maps for ELA: The Georgia Department of Education has developed curriculum maps for grades K – 12.
K – 12 Teacher Guidance Documents: There is a Teacher Guidance Document for grades K – 8. There is a Teacher Guidance Document for high school ELA courses including Grade Nine Literature, Grade 10 Literature and Composition, Advanced Composition, American Literature, Multicultural Literature, British Literature, Grade 10 Writing, Speaking and Listening, Language, Grades 11 – 12 Writing, Speaking and Listening, Language.
