Now is the perfect time to familiarize yourself with the standards and expectations for the rollout of the New ELA standards. In this session we will briefly share core principals of the Science of Reading and the Reading Brain's connections to the New ELA Standards. We will explore Periods and Movements, one of the Big Ideas for the Text Domain, in detail and collaborate with others to share ideas for texts aligned to Historical Understandings featured in the GSE for Social Studies along with literature of the periods and movement suggested by the DOE.  Additionally, we will introduce the Practices Domain and how those Standards and Expectations support learners across all grade levels.
